Welcome to the Undercover website – the Essex covers band entertaining pubs and clubs with a selection of classics and trashics plus plenty of fun.
Within our site you can find information about upcoming gigs, songs we cover and reviews we've received. You'll also find our photos page bringing you pics of the band and the audience at various venues as well as a link to our Slideshow for the pick of the best.
With over twenty years of gigging experience in various bands the line-up now concentrates solely on cover versions of well chosen songs. We cover anything from Eddie Cochrane to Franz Ferdinand and usually play set lists appropriate to the venue and function. This variety has enabled us to take on Birthday Parties from 18th – 80th! plus Weddings and open air events. You can find examples of our set-lists on the contacts page as well as a Frequently Asked Questions section.
Undercover have been gigging together since late 2001 after spending quite some time finding the correct mixture of commitment, compatibility and attitude. In June 2004 we took on Mick as our new drummer and now we're rolling better than ever!
We're all firm believers that for a live band to be entertaining they have to be visually entertaining, and this is very obvious whilst we're on stage. We especially feed off an enthusiastic audience.
So get ready for some fun, get ready for a laugh, get yourself up and lets party!
Music Downloads
In July 2008 we recorded ourselves live at Musictek in Dagenham which resulted in 15 tracks from which we've picked 3 to present as a demo. This gives an accurate live account of ourselves, "warts 'n' all" without the distraction of a live audience. Charity Work
Undercover support a number of charities each year by offering their services
for free. We're known for helping to raise funds for MEDICS
– an Accident and Emergency Doctor Service – the Mid-Essex Doctors Immediate
Care Scheme – which operates under the nationwide BASICS organisation (British
Association for Immediate Care). Twice a year during 2002/3/4 we provided
the band, PA, lighting and stage free of charge for all-day open air events
arranged in North Essex at The Fighting C*cks and Bell Pub (Wendens Ambo).
We again provided our services in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Unfortunately we're taking a break from the Bell Bash in 2009 but hope to be back in 2010.
MEDICS charity website
We also helped to raise funds in 2005/6/7 at the White Horse Beer and Music
Festival in Coxtie Green, Brentwood, for Cancer
Research UK and in aid of The
Little Havens Children's Hospice – offering specialist one on one
care for children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses. Plans
are currently afoot to again be part of this festival and we're helping to
raise funds for Help for Heroes during the Easter weekend 2009 at the
Fatling & Firkin,
Hornchurch.
